At least three dead after private aircraft crashes into group of people in Germany

A Cessna F172N has crashed into a group of people in the state of Hesse, Germany.

Police confirmed that at least three people have died in the accident, including one child, and another eight were injured.

According to reports from German media, the aircraft with the registration D-EFJX was unable to get airborne after a failed attempt to land at an airfield and ‘drove into a group of people’ at around 3:45 pm local time.

The crash site is located on a hill near Fulda, about 90 kilometres (56 miles) north-east of Frankfurt.
