All Nippon Airways (ANA) has taken delivery of its first Airbus A380, which features a special Honu-inspired livery with green sea turtles.. The new aircraft is set to leave the Airbus production site in Toulouse for Tokyo after the handover ceremony on Wednesday.

The introduction of the Airbus A380 into our lineup is something the entire team at ANA is very excited about. The A380 is one of the most advanced commercial airliners in the world, and we will hold events to mark its departure in Toulouse as well as when it lands at Narita airport.Yutaka Ito, Executive Vice President of ANA

The airline’s first Airbus A380 is expected to enter service on May 24 on the highly demanded leisure route between Tokyo Narita and Honolulu.

In total, the Japanese carrier will receive three A380s, which were ordered in January 2016.

On the basis of fleet size, the Star Alliance member ANA is the largest airline in Japan. Its current fleet consists of narrow-body aircraft (including both Airbus A320 family and Boeing 737) and wide-body airplanes, including Boeing 767, 777 and 787.
