Air New Zealand has received its first Airbus A321neo. The aircraft, registered as ZK-NNA, was handed over to the flag carrier of New Zealand on Wednesday. A few days later, on Friday, the delivery flight took off from the Airbus production site at Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport and will arrive in Auckland on Monday after stops in Muscat, Kuala Lumpur and Cairns.

In addition to the airline’s A320neo airplanes, the new A321neo will feature Air New Zealand’s new Economy seat design which was revealed at the Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg in 2017.

Air New Zealand has both Airbus A320neo (6) and A321neo (14) aircraft on order to replace its older A320-200 fleet. Besides the A320 family aircraft, the airline operates Boeing 777 and Boeing 787 wide body jets.

Update
